About me

Fernando González-Criado Leyra (Santiago de Compostela, Spain), is a versatile Spanish artist, actor, and creative engineer. He was a child with ADHD and socializing problems when he discovered how liberating the world wide web could be.

Wikipedia was the “I-know-everything-friend” who fed his insatiable curiosity, helping him to understand the behavioral aspects of human beings and other sociological phenomena involved in the difficult art of making friends. But also other topics such as the use of microwaves as a displacement mechanism for rockets.

After changing schools and having to make new friends, Acting was the first one, after joining the local theater group. It helped him to explore the world of emotions and the power of imagination. This experience was cathartic for him, making a significant impact on his life by serving him as a healing force.

In the summer of 2018, Fernando was advised to move to Madrid and study arts. A few months later he was accepted in the prestigious Universidad Complutense de Madrid in the BA of Fine Arts. Learning about traditional techniques and practices.

He culminated his studies with an outstanding thesis about AI governance and transhumanism, demonstrating his interests in the ethical dimensions of technology and its societal impact. He credited his mother, who holds a PhD in Philosophy, for instilling in him and his sister the value of maintaining a critical perspective in how we draw our future.

In 2022, Fernando participated in a two-semester Erasmus exchange at the Kunsthochschule Kassel, where there is a research department of New Media, led by Professor Joel Baumann. The discovery of the words New and Media changed the direction of his life forever.

His passionate embrace of digital technology within creative workflows became his leitmotif. Shaping his style into a hybrid of Post-Internet and Pop Art aesthetic.

He is soon to finish his MA in Visual Communication at the KHK, researching in the field of digital legacy and identity through Virtual Realities and The Metaverse, hoping, of course, that we don’t fall into the trap of The Wachowskis' Matrix.

Following his love of the art of sales. The Leading Independent Advertising Agency Jung von Matt awarded Fernando with a full scholarship to become part of their famous anual dual programe "JvM Academy", being chosen by their office in Zürich as their intern for 2025.

Harvard Business School also awarded Fernando with a full scholarship to study a 3 months course in Business Fundamentals, learning about leadership, customer focus, marketing and other important areas such as HR and negotiating.

Right now Fernando is living between Germany and Switzerland, focused on enjoying the opportunity of being part of the creative global community of Jung von Matt and mixing his expertise in New Media Art with the new knowledge that awaits him in the edge of this new passionate life chapter.
